JC001

JC001 was born in 1966. He lives in London and is of Irish-Indian descent, and is skilled in vocal performance, including rap and beatbox in his repertoire. He has toured solo and with other artists world-wide and draws on musical influences from Hip Hop to classical Indian music and reggae. He formerly held the Guinness Book record for speed-rapping.

JC001 leads workshops in schools and colleges and teaches a rap course at Westminster College. In 2002 he won the Berlin Literature Festival International Poetry Slam. He also worked with Asian Dub Foundation on the life of Gaddafi for the Royal Opera House.
