Every one of us is on a unique journey. In his book Whispers From Within John invites us to review the journey he’s been on thus far showing us both the highs and the lows, the times of great sadness and the moments of hope and love. I am inspired by the raw vulnerability expressed by John within these pages he holds nothing back in his telling of the truth. If we allow it to, this book will challenge us to be real with our emotions and just may be the key to unlocking our own whispers from within. Helen Munt, NAPAC Office Manager
John Harrison has been through things that most of us would find difficult to believe. He has coped, if that is the right word, by expressing himself through his poetry and does so extraordinary well. Many people use poetry as a cathartic tool, but few reach the goal of touching others with the strength of their work. John does. You cannot help but feel the emotional pain and confusion of the torment he endured, from his abusers and those who were given the responsibility of helping him. Poems like ‘The Rock’ and ‘Consumed Within’ take us to places we would rather not go to, but the poetry is our guide and enlightener. He uses it to not only as a release and to make sense of himself, but also to raise awareness of the issues that many like him face. Tony Stringfellow, Author, Poet and Radio Presenter
